Terrebonne Republican Party Endorses Jeff Landry
Business attorney and former Congressman Jeff Landry has been endorsed by the Terrebonne Republican Parish Executive Committee (RPEC). In a letter to Landry, Darrin Guidry - Chairman of the Terrebonne RPEC – announced the endorsement.
“The Terrebonne Parish Executive Committee for the Republican Party proudly announces its endorsement for Jeff Landry for the office of Attorney General. Mr. Landry has shown through his prior public service his commitment to the highest ethical standards and conservative principles,” wrote Guidry.
“The Office of Attorney General requires the holder of the office to be the chief advocate for the State of Louisiana and the defender of the rights of its citizens. With the federal government continually overreaching its Constitutional authority and imposing its will upon the citizens of Louisiana, it is important for the Attorney General to understand the principals of federalism as our Founding Fathers brilliantly set forth and illustrated over 200 years ago," explained Guidry.
“Of all the candidates, only Jeff Landry has expressed his willingness to defend these important notions. His experience as a lawmaker and business attorney gives him a unique perspective on the roles of our local, state and federal governments and the effects of their respective actions upon our citizenry," continued Guidry.
"We believe that Jeff Landry will hold the office with dignity and will not abuse the vast power to which he will be entrusted, the likes of which we now see in Washington under the Obama Administration with Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch," concluded Guidry.
Landry has previously been endorsed by the Republican Party of Louisiana, Family Research Council, Gun Owners of America, LAMP (Louisiana Chemical Association and the Louisiana Chemical Industry Alliance), Louisiana Oil and Gas Association’s LOGPAC, Congressman Steve Scalise, Congressman John Fleming, Colonel Rob Maness (retired), Caddo RPEC, DeSoto RPEC, Jefferson RPEC, Lafourche RPEC, Orleans RPEC, St. Bernard RPEC, St. Charles RPEC, St. John the Baptist RPEC, St. Tammany RPEC, Washington RPEC, Webster RPEC, Louisiana Young Republican Federation, LSU College Republicans, LSUS College Republicans, and ULL College Republicans.
